I am a graduate from the New York school of dog grooming and a certified master groomer. I opened a grooming salon; Joy’s Salty Dog Salon on the square in East Petersburg, Pa in 1992, the salon exploded in popularity and we set a standard of excellence in the grooming industry. Lancaster has proudly awarded Joy’s Salty Dog Salon number one grooming salon in the Lancaster New Era’s Peoples choice awards 2007.  My passion for poodles expanded into my second business, Murrmaid Poodles which included breeding, grooming and showing top quality AKC standard and miniature poodles to their American championship. I soon realized my interest in this industry was a lifestyle choice and not just a job.

I founded Lancaster Area Poodle Rescue and served as a former American Kennel Club Education Coordinator for The Lancaster Kennel Club and served on the board of directors for The Poodle Club of Lehigh Valley. I was an exhibitor in the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2004. I have privately coached many Groom Team competitors towards their prestigious wins both nationally and internationally. 

My personal commitment is to offer top quality poodles, grooming and products as well as educate people on proper animal care because animal and handler safety, health and comfort are a number one concern.
